Sexy New Year, Sexy New You

Sexy New Year, Sexy New You

I know, I know, it can be a tad hard to get excited about a new year when we’re in the midst of a pandemic that just doesn’t want to stop, but while we might be inclined to ask, “What new, fresh hell does 2022 have in store for us?”, I  advise more optimism:  How do we make the best of this strange, new normal?  How do we seize what parts of it we love, and make more of them, and take the parts we don’t love and blast that off into the sun?

Take climate change, for instance.  It’s terrifying to think of, and 99 percent awful, but I’m also writing this post out on my deck, in a state of near-undress, because, though our destruction of the environment has wreaked untold harms, it has also created this unseasonable, balmy, absolutely glorious late-December warmth here in the mountains of North Carolina.  So instead of scarves and hats, I’m wearing a bikini and soaking up sunshine, and I’m savoring it.

On a more personal level, consider our bodies.  I sometimes feel frustrated with my body when it doesn’t function in the ways I want it to.  But when I sense these frustrations, I also see physical symptoms as opportunities to learn, to grow, to change, to engage daily in the kind of radical self care I help others do.

If my pussy isn’t feeling as alive or as vibrant as I want it to, I know that it is within my power to change that.  If I’m feeling a lack of confidence about my body, I know to surround myself with people who love me no matter my appearance, and I also sense, for me, that it’s a time to shift my eating patterns, nourish my body in a way that will make me look and feel the way I want to.

Of course, this is all hard work.  It takes time and financial resources, neither of which are infinite.  So right now, as we turn over the calendar, it’s a good time to prioritize, to set intentions, to go deep within and find what you really want to work on this year.  Be intentional.  Get out a pen and paper and jot down some ideas, longhand, because the act of writing things down is powerful.

What is serving you?  What makes you feel alive?  How can you create more space for that in your life?  And what is holding you back?  How can you work to release it, to give it back to the sun?  Imagine feeding all that negative energy to the sun – your limiting beliefs, your shame, your belly fat, your toxic ex – and see the sun take it and burn it up.  Imagine the sun taking what you don’t want and don’t need, and see the sun flare with healing light, warmth, and energy to sustain you through the winter and fuel your growth as a whole being.

Sending you warmth and healing now and always.  If one of your resolutions is to work on healing your sexual being or improving your sexual connection, please reach out and we can discuss how I can help you.
